When I went: 21 September 2019
Location: Royal Albert Hall, London
Performers: Philharmonia Orcestra, Dirk Brossé (conductor)
Creative team: John Williams (composer)
Approximate price: £62
Special points: Live film experience
Best bit: Introduction of Imperial March and ending scene with Skywalker twins
If I could change one thing: Better merch for women and smaller people
Review:
As with Star Wars Live In Concert (A New Hope), this was a great experience and the orchestra performed the music really well. I wasn’t impressed with the lack of suitable merch for women or smaller people (surely the people in charge realise that Star Wars has had female fans for some time now, and they might want T-shirts too?!) but apart from that the Royal Albert Hall was a great setting for this concert.
The famous Imperial March is played about 1000 times throughout this film but it is still quite thrilling, and it’s fun to watch arguably the best Star Wars film with an enthusiastic audience of superfans (some of whom came wearing their own stormtrooper and Darth Vader helmets).
