When I went: 23 August 2018
Shows seen there: King Lear
Size: Fairly big
Typical price: Very expensive – stalls tickets around £125
Special points: Special staging (e.g. runway for King Lear)
Comments:
This theatre used a special ‘runway’ in the middle of the stalls for King Lear, which worked well in terms of showing off the actors, the staging effects and the costumes. The seats in the stalls were also pretty comfortable with more legroom than normal.
Still not enough ladies’ toilets, but there are nice bar areas. The ice-creams at the interval were bigger than normal (maybe this was justified as they were about £4.50 each).
