When I went: 11 March 2017
Shows seen there: Music for Two Violas
Size: Medium
Typical price: Fairly cheap (around £10 for some concerts)
Special points: Classical music, especially chamber music
Where to eat beforehand: Quod
Comments:
This is a church-like music venue within Wadham College (although as I and my companions found out, you don’t access it through the college porters’ lodge but through the entrance on Holywell Street). It has nice acoustics but a slight drawback is the under-seat piped heating which can make it warm up a bit too much during concerts. When sitting looking up at the impressive chandeliers, we noticed some even more impressive mega-long spider webs between them.
