When I went: 20 November 2010, 29 September 2017
Shows seen there: Grease, Annie
Size: Fairly big
Typical price: Various (from around £30 to around £110 depending on seat placement and star power of show)
Special points: Proximity to shops and restaurants
Where to eat beforehand: Balthazar, Ivy Market Grill, Gauthier Soho, Brasserie Zédel
Comments:
This theatre is not one of the glitzier ones in London but is well-sized and has hosted classic musicals such as Grease, Ghost and Guys and Dolls, as well as the short-lived Viva Forever.
It is extremely well-located in terms of proximity to good shops and restaurants and the prices don’t tend to reach the heights of those at, for instance, the Savoy Theatre. The exits from the theatre are not always that well signposted so it can get quite crowded at the end unless you know to try to sneak out the side doors halfway down the stalls.
